The catch: 'permanently free' is a strong claim. Free tiers change. Rate limits tighten. Providers shut down. This is a living document that's only as good as its last update. And free LLM APIs often have significant rate limits. Fine for prototyping, not for production traffic. Always have a paid fallback for anything customer-facing.
